Co-Founder, Creative Director
Rumble partner Rick Meyer has been involved in the Minneapolis music community in one way or another for the last 30 years. He’s played every club from here to New York, and has slept on pretty much every crappy motel bed along the way. His long hours in band vans and endless nights in studios give him a unique, slightly blurry perspective on the music business.
Rick has composed an estimated 1000+ commercials over his 20+ year post production music career, and has been responsible for the soundtracks to dozens of iconic ad campaigns for the likes of Target, BMW, Budweiser, Chevrolet, Macy’s, ABC TV, Porsche, Sesame Street, and many more. In the past few years, Rick has composed and produced a dozen albums, including one self-proclaimed to be the best record to listen to while you try to sleep on a 14 hour flight to Sydney.
Rick spends his free time traveling the world and driving fast.
Having produced dozens of records for bands across the U.S. (American Taxi, Throw the Fight, Baltimore), Matt officially broke into the national spotlight for his production of Quiet Drive’s “When All That Was Left Is You” on Sony Records in 2006, which included a single that spent 27 weeks on the Billboard Top 40 charts and was recently certified gold by the RIAA.. Most recently, Rocket Club, in which both Matt and Rumble partner Don Smithmier were members, charted nationally on the Billboard Country Charts with their song, “One More Day” and “One Thing Beautiful”.
A gifted writer, producer and guitarist, Matt’s music has been used for Target, Macy’s, Subaru, Time Warner, Purina, Sesame Street, Supervalu, DC Shoes, Minnesota Lottery, Gap, CVS, Buffalo Wild Wings, Mystic Lake Casino, Sprint, Bratz, Stanley Steemer, Rasmussen College, Caribou Coffee and Aviva, His original music is regularly used on NBC, ABC, CBS, Fox, MTV, VH1, Nick, Disc and TLC.
Best known for his extensive work with Prince in the 1990’s, Barbarella’s reputation for excellence and versatility extended over the following decade by touring, recording and performing with the likes of Art Garfunkel, Mavis Staples, Jonny Lang, Nick Jonas, Italian superstar Giorgia, local supergroup Greazy Meal and another local supergroup – the Minnesota Orchestra. He has contributed his talents to Hollywood features by iconic directors like Spike Lee, Robert Altman and Marc Forester.
A veteran of touring and playing live, Barbarella is also a first-call session musician. His keyboard work can be heard on recordings by artists as diverse as Switchfoot, Backstreet Boys, Ziggy Marley, Love & Rockets, David Sylvian, Miley Cyrus and many more.
Barbarella is currently making waves with one of his current ensembles, “Droppers”, a retro-soul band in the spirit Stax Records. Tommy’s recent work for Rumble includes Target, BluDot, Herman Miller, Sesame Street, and others.
