Rumble does a Figure 8 for DC Shoes

Skate/Snowboard culture giant DC Shoes recently recruited Rumble to remix the Schoolhouse Rock classic “Figure 8” for their new “Progression” campaign.

The piece features a slew of DC’s finest showing off in glorious black and white. The dark mood of the song is a great foil to the insanity on screen. Check it out in our Recent Work section. Or just click Play below…

Members of Rumble reach airwaves with Rocket Club

Rumblers Matt Kirkwold and Don Smithmier recently celebrated the release of the debut CD of Rocket Club, a Minneapolis-based band that blends rock, pop and alt-country flavors with a story-telling lyrical style.

Produced by Kirkwold and co-written by Smithmier, Rocket Club’s debut CD is getting lots of love early on with the track Holdin’ On already being spun by K102 FM, one of the country’s largest and most influential country stations.

“We really weren’t thinking country when we wrote and recorded the tune,” says Kirkwold.  ”So it was a really nice surprise when K102 started spinning it.  It’s a great testament to the song.”

Matt Kirkwold’s production work is no stranger to radio.  In 2006 he produced QuietDrive’s debut CD When All That’s Left is You.   That record incuded “Time After Time” which spent 27 weeks on the Billboard Top 40 Charts.

“We think this is just another great example of the kind of talent and musical diversity that Rumble brings,” says Rumble co-founder Jess Ford.  ”We’re focused on doing great work that spans advertising, film and commercial music.  That’s evident with this project.”

Rocket Club performs regularly in the Twin Cities area.  The CD can be found on iTunes and at Best Buy stores throughout the region.
